Lidl’s communication strategy is to create relevant organic content that engages the target groups families with children and young adults.

My job as a Content Creator and Project Manager for Lidl Sverige is to create content that aligns with the digital strategy and develop recurring concepts in video and still images. Most of the time, the content is based on humor and contains an unexpected twist.

The team includes me, Linus Stevrin as Content Creator and Joakim Svärdh as Photographer and Editor.

Lil-D

In an anagram of Lidl, the artist Lil-D was created. The debuting artist is passionate about low food prices, EPA cars and the energy drink Kong. In April 2023, the song ”Kong i byn” was released, where he raps about life as a Lidl fan. A debut song for all Lidl fans to bang in their cars as they cruise this summer.

The campaign was launched as a two-stage rocket. On April 1st 2023 a teaser was published saying that two days later a song called ”Kong i byn” by the new artist would be released. Comments like “April fools, but please do it!” poured in and with them great anticipation.

Two days later, on April 3rd 2023, the song was released along with a music video, and the impact on social media was huge.
